Orange Tree Samples Evolution Dracus is a virtual electric guitar sample library designed for rock and metal music production. Built around an extended-range eight-string guitar, it provides a broad collection of articulations, playing techniques, and sound-shaping tools for creating heavy rhythm parts, expressive lead performances, and detailed guitar arrangements.
The library combines extensive multisampled recordings with an integrated effects engine featuring virtual stompboxes, rack processors, amplifiers, and guitar cabinets. Its collection of factory presets provides ready-to-use clean, crunchy, and distorted tones, while adjustable performance controls allow musicians to customize the response and character of the instrument.
With more than 15,000 samples and a wide range of articulations, Evolution Dracus accommodates everything from aggressive palm-muted riffs and complex tapping passages to slides, harmonics, vibrato, and other specialized guitar techniques.
Software Overview
Evolution Dracus is designed to reproduce the extended range and playing characteristics of an eight-string electric guitar within Native Instruments Kontakt. Its sampled instrument covers notes beyond the range of a conventional six-string guitar, allowing composers and producers to create exceptionally low rhythm parts alongside high-register lead performances.
The instrument supports multiple playing techniques, including sustained notes, palm mutes, muted chugs, pinch harmonics, tapping, slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, and string noises. Dedicated legato samples provide more natural transitions between connected notes, while velocity-sensitive articulations and round-robin variations help add detail to repeated performances.
Its integrated effects section includes virtual guitar pedals, rack effects, amplifiers, and cabinets. Separate pickup signals allow users to adjust the pickup blend, while the built-in preset collection offers different tonal starting points for metal, rock, and other guitar-based productions.
