Orange Tree Samples Evolution Stratosphere is a virtual electric guitar instrument for Native Instruments Kontakt, designed to deliver expressive guitar performances through detailed sampling and advanced performance controls. As the fifth generation of the Evolution guitar engine, it builds on the development of Orange Tree Samples' guitar libraries, which have been used in film and television scores, trailers, video games, and popular music productions.
The instrument combines an intuitive strumming pattern editor, a comprehensive guitar effects engine, and flexible articulation controls. Its features allow musicians and producers to create detailed rhythm parts, expressive lead performances, and customized guitar tones without relying on external guitar effects processors.
Software Overview
Evolution Stratosphere focuses on realistic guitar performance and flexible sound design. Its strumming editor provides control over individual strings, strumming direction, and playing speed. Unlike a traditional step-sequencer approach, the editor supports multiple articulations within a single pattern and allows special techniques such as string slaps to be incorporated into the performance.
The built-in effects engine includes a collection of modeled guitar pedals, selectable guitar cabinet sizes, and different microphone and placement options. These tools provide an integrated environment for shaping guitar tones, from the initial instrument sound to the final processed signal.
Key Features
- Advanced strumming pattern editor: Create guitar rhythms with control over which strings are played, strumming direction, and strumming speed.
- Articulation-based patterns: Combine multiple articulations within a single strumming pattern and incorporate techniques such as string slaps.
- Built-in guitar effects engine: Includes a collection of modeled guitar pedals for shaping different guitar tones.
- Cabinet and microphone options: Select guitar cabinet sizes and choose from several microphone and placement configurations.
- Multitracking: Supports up to four layers of guitar tracking.
- Adjustable pick position: Uses proprietary physical modeling technology to change the simulated picking position.
- Multiple vibrato styles: Provides classic, rock, and metal vibrato styles with adjustable depth and speed.
- MIDI vibrato control: Assigns vibrato to MIDI CCs or aftertouch for expressive performance control.
- Flexible articulation mapping: Configure articulation triggers using velocity ranges, MIDI CCs, and latching or non-latching keyswitches.
Evolution Stratosphere brings guitar performance controls and tone-shaping tools together in one Kontakt instrument. The strumming editor makes it possible to build detailed rhythm patterns, while the articulation mapping system provides flexibility when programming individual guitar parts.
Its integrated effects engine, cabinet choices, microphone configurations, and adjustable vibrato controls also give producers a broad range of options for creating customized electric guitar sounds.
