This 3CD/1Bluray expanded 50th anniversary edition contains the original remastered album, along with a newly mixed version of the album in Stereo and Atmos. These are unedited versions of tracks from the album, which were originally edited down to fit a side of a vinyl and presented here in full for the first time. Added to this, there are a selection of previously unreleased outtakes and alternative versions and a full live concert from the Record Plant in 1974 across 2 CDs. The Blu-ray contains the full 2024 Unedited Atmos version of the album, hi-res 96/24 version of the original 1974 mix, an instrumental version of the album, Record Plant 1974 and additional outtakes not featured on the CDs. With a 24-page booklet with new interviews conducted by David Sinclair, Robin Trower and producer Matthew Fisher, along with testimonials from Bryan Ferry, Robert Fripp, Steve Lukather, Clive Bunker, Andy Parker and previously unseen photographs. Bridge of Sighs, Robin Trower's sophomore album following his departure from Procol Harum. Lauded critically, commercially a breakthrough, the album saw Robin push his trio's initial concept into exciting new territory. Accompanied by James Dewar on soulful vocal and bass duty and Reg Isidore underpinning their psychedelic blues sound with masterful drumming. Released in August 1970 on the Liberty label, the album was recorded in March and April of that year and established Hawkwind as one of the most exciting and original bands to emerge from the UK Underground scene. Tracks such as 'Hurry On Sundown', 'Mirror of Illusion', 'Be Yourself', 'Seeing It As You Really Are' and 'Paranoia' set the scene for the legendary Space Rock style that Hawkwind would explore to great acclaim and success in the 1970s and beyond. Rhino released a really nicely packaged and wonderfully appointed version of Van Morrison: Moondance that I reviewed back in 2013, and they're distributing this new(ish) version officially from Warner Music Group, but this may be one of the easier "double dip" choices for fans even if this newest release doesn't offer the packaging or bonus content that older one offered. The allure here is a new Atmos mix, which is pretty formidable sounding, along with some other interesting mixes that weren't available on the first Blu- ray release, including (for those who might be interested) the instrumental accompaniments without vocals added.

BONGO FURY turns 50! The Zappa & Beefheart collab in May 1975 resulted in new songs, a tour, & album. Bongo Fury is mostly live recordings from Austin, TX. It’s the last to use the name “Mothers” before it was retired in 1976. This box is 5 CDs of material incl. studio outtakes + two concerts. Also includes unseen photos & liner notes from guitarist, Denny Walley, plus Vaultmeister Joe Travers. Blu-Ray features new Dolby Atmos, 5.1 mixes, & high-res stereo audio w/ bonus surround experiences.
